bridal veil

Lily under Bridal Veil Falls, 2009

With just two weeks until the "big day," Lily, Uwharrie and I made our way to DuPont State Forest to join Adam and thirty other folks for the annual Waterfall Bonanza. This run is really a great way to beat the heat. This year however, the refreshing creek plunges weren't so much needed with the continuous rain. Still, it was better than ever, especially with the wonderful post-run party at the Foxworth chateau. Thanks Terry!

I'm very proud of Lily for logging her first ten-mile run. Hmm, how much farther is she willing to go? Thanks to everybody for the fun this past Saturday. Finally, a belated thanks to Anne and Will for the recent SB6K article in BRO.

end of summer?

just another kitsuma kid

If summer means vacation, then yes, it's officially over. If summer means hot weather, then no, it's unfortunately not. Classes are back in session, life goes on. Just back from running in the rain to the top of Ida fueled on local honey, life is still very good. Might as well share a tribute (the tradition continues) from a pacer's perspective to the Hardrock 100:

Many thanks to Scott not only for the opportunity to once again enjoy the majority of this event (minus entry fee and lottery ticket), but for unearthing some lost BMT footage from his camera as well.
