Our summer break begins tomorrow. This summer promises to be both exciting and stressful. Starting tomorrow, I have a ten day window to take care of some
unfinished business. Many thanks to family and friends for helping Lily and me reduce our carbon footprint during this much needed time for personal recreation. Thanks to
Andy and
Carl for helping set up a track map (below) for this upcoming
Southern Appalachian Glow Expedition. Updates should start to appear tomorrow. The
test begins now. Happy trails!

Sounds like an epic adventure. Look forward to reading your updates!
Have fun! I'm still not out of the woods with a bum foot, so thanks for letting us virtually follow along and share in the adventure!
Nice vid of the updated fastpack gear as well. No kidding about the awful ingredient list on the instant mashed potatoes! Instant rice is good, but I also like instant refried beans. They are light, super tasty, quick and easy, but they also have a bit more protein than the rice.
Superb! Excited for your quest.
Oh yeah!!
warwoman dell at 4:15pm sunday....on track to sleep at the GA/NC border (mile 118) on night #3 - metronome matt :)
there should have been plenty of battery for the spot, but maybe it died....if anyone gets a check in from matt, let us know here!:)
Ok people, Matt called lily from the NOC Tuesday afternoon...
He said it's taking him a while to get "in to" this trek, but he's not stopping!
I'm on the iPhone traveling, but tomorrow I'll try to spent a few minutes trying to troubleshoot the map...(Andy??)

Wow! What an exciting adventure! Can't wait to hear about it!
